MELON EVENTS

SATURDAY 18TH  FEBRUARY 2017

 

All arm bands to participate on the day will need to be picked up from the registration area.

 

You will need to print out the indemnity form and take to the registration area.

 

 

The person who has signed the form needs to present to receive their arm band – we will not hand out additional arm bands for anyone who is not present.

 

Children under the age of 18 will still require their guardian to receive their arm band.

 

 No arm band, no entry to the games arena.

ARENA OF MELON EVENTS

12pm – 5pm -  School Oval

 

 

MELON DASH FOR CASH

 

 12 noon -  Heeney Street

 

Test your fitness in a mad dash for cash.  You must carry a whole melon the whole way!  (Must wear enclosed footwear and must have a registration band to enter.

 

MELON SKIING

 

 12.30pm – 4pm - Arena

 

 Requires 1 person skiing on melon skins.

 

Squish your feet into watermelon & ski down the course.

 

 

FREE MELON FEAST

 

 3pm – Under the big tree.

 

Try a slice or two of Melon near the Arena under the big tree.

 

 

 

MELON PIP SPITTING

Heats throughout the day – Listen out for details.

CELEBRITY MELON EATING

 

 4pm - Arena

 

 The festival wouldn’t happen without the generous sponsors – watch our sponsors eat as much melons as they can with no hands!

 

 

 

 

MELON CHARIOT RACE

 

Arena

ASSEMBLE 4.00PM

START RACE 4.30PM

 

The competitors will assemble their chariot from melon packing cartons, pallets and readymade axles. Race is held in the arena.

 

Participants must wear enclosed footwear.  Aim – the race the entire lap and not fall off.

 

MELON BUNGY

 

12.30pm – 4pm - Arena

 

Team event – 4 in each team, attached by bungy rope on a mat covered in melon

 

Aim – to reach your melon!

 

MELON SLIP, DIP & PULL

12.30pm – 4pm - Arena

 

See who the strongest team is in the tug-a-war

 

MELON IRONMAN/WOMAN

 

 Assembled at 4pm - Arena

 

2 participants per team.

 

Maximum of 20 male teams and 20 female teams.

 

Ironman circuit which contains obstacles, challenges and tasks which showcase the physicality of the Melon Industry.  Aim – to complete the ironman circuit with one intact melon per team in the fastest time!
